Donald Kirby Obituary

Don "Kirb" Kirby completed his earthly journey on July 22nd, 2023 at the age of 78 in Tucson, Arizona after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Don was born in Moline, Illinois and moved to Tucson with his mother Corine, father William, and brothers Carl, Dale, and Wayne in 1956. He attended Sunnyside Highschool and then worked for Asarco for 37 years before retiring. He joined Corporate Trax as a courier for a number of years. Don served in the U.S. Airforce and was stationed in Maine from 1965 to 1969.

During his youth, he was often spotted in his "fawn brown" 62' Corvette convertible and was forever a classic car enthusiast. In high school, Don played a number of sports and continued playing basketball long into his life. He loved watching Arizona basketball, going to the gym to work out and his family. He is survived by his wife of 44+ years Judy, his children Brent (Lance), Tiffani (Doug), Nicholas (Marisela), and his grandchildren Alexandra and Drake.

The family would like to recognize the following for helping Don in his 12-year battle with Parkinson's: Dr. Thomas Norton, Dr. Katherine Bradley, Dr. Dean Wright, Jodi Blanchard, DNP Dr. Francisco Valdivia, Parkinson's Wellness Gym (Calli, Sarah H., Sarah R.), TMC, Encompass and Peppi's House

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 7th 9:00am at South Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Parkinson's Wellness Recovery (PWR!).
