Earl Brown Obituary
1939 - 2021
passed away on November 14, 2021 at the age of 82, with his daughter at his side. Son of Dr. Earl H. Brown, Jr., and Clara "Cluny" Brown-Dingman, Bud was born and raised in Tucson alongside his sister, Linda Edwards Shelton. Bud graduated from Southern Arizona School for Boys, where he made many lifelong friends and developed a great love for Sabino Canyon. He later studied Mathematics and History at the University of Arizona. A lifelong learner, Bud was an avid reader and tutored Calculus until the age of 79. Bud will always be remembered for his intellect, sense of humor and his kind, gentle nature. He loved animals and hiking and was a great supporter of environmental causes. Bud is survived by his daughter, Laura Lewnes (George); grandson, Alexander Lewnes; nephews, Blake and Todd Edwards (Kyle); great-nieces and nephews; former wife, Deborah Ensign, and many dear friends. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Bud will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We know we can always find him in the beauty of the desert and his beloved Sabino Canyon. I got to know Earl at the now closed Starbucks at Grant and Swan, where he often tutored. He was indeed a wonderfully nice man. Earl was also a very interesting man with insightful opinions on a great variety of topics. I immensely enjoyed our discussions before, after and between his tutoring sessions. If I made it to the coffee shop before him, I would often hold the table for him. Perhaps now he'll do the same for me in a different venue.

Laura, your dad was a special man with a soul of gentleness, kindness, & compassion. He loved you dearly & you took the best care of him that any daughter could. He really was quite brilliant & you made his life meaningful. He was always so nice to me & always made me & others feel that he was interested in them. He had that special gift of listening as he would draw people out to share conversation with him. He will be missed but remembered with such fondness. He had a quiet dignity & poise about him. He is at peace with the Lord that he believed in. Bless you as you miss him & adjust to his not being here.
