I got to know Earl at the now closed Starbucks at Grant and Swan, where he often tutored. He was indeed a wonderfully nice man. Earl was also a very interesting man with insightful opinions on a great variety of topics. I immensely enjoyed our discussions before, after and between his tutoring sessions. If I made it to the coffee shop before him, I would often hold the table for him. Perhaps now he'll do the same for me in a different venue.

Laura, your dad was a special man with a soul of gentleness, kindness, & compassion. He loved you dearly & you took the best care of him that any daughter could. He really was quite brilliant & you made his life meaningful. He was always so nice to me & always made me & others feel that he was interested in them. He had that special gift of listening as he would draw people out to share conversation with him. He will be missed but remembered with such fondness. He had a quiet dignity & poise about him. He is at peace with the Lord that he believed in. Bless you as you miss him & adjust to his not being here.
