Elias Aranda

Elias Aranda passed away on December 23, 2013 with his loving wife at his side. After a five year battle with Cancer. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel; his father and mother and older brother. He was born and raised in Brady, Texas on April 17, 1933. He served in the Army at the Panama Canal. He moved to Tucson when he left the Army in 1956. He worked at Sandoval News Agency from 1956 to 1966. He met his wife, Carol (Voss) in 1962, while she was visiting her father. She is from Clinton, LA. They went together for two years and were married at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on June 6, 1964. They had twin boys, Dan and Don. They moved to Renton, WA in 1966 where he worked in construction until 1974. When they moved back to Tucson, Elias worked for Duval Mine Cypress Sierrita for 23 years. He later retired in 1996. He was a member of the American Legion Post 36. He is survived by his wife, Carol; his son, Don; two grandsons and two granddaughters, two sisters, Inez Aguero of Casa Grande, AZ and Mary Perez of Abilene, Texas; five nieces and one nephew. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft Rd. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with graveside at 12:30 p.m. at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Arrangements entrusted to EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY AND CEMETERY.
