Laurel, Godfrey was my chemistry teacher at Joliet Catholic High in 1965. I failed his course but he was a good friend and mentor. I loved to sit and talk with him and others on the priory back step in Joliet about all sorts of things. When I did my internship at Salpointe in 1971-2, he was there. It was good to have the chance o live with him there. I'll turn 60 in 2 weeks. I have been a Carmelite for 44 years and a priest for 31. After 31 yrs. of high school teaching, I am now chaplain at Carmelite Carefree Village, Darien, Ill. You and your family are in my prayers. Godfrey was unique!!! Fr. Jay Comerford, O. Carm. Laurel,
Joe and I were SO sad to hear of the world's loss! We so enjoyed the time spent with you and Godfrey in Elgin and had looked forward to actually picking grapes that year! Sorry it didn't work out. Please contact us when you are able and let's get together again. Would love to see you. Our prayers and love are being sent your way.

Chancellor, I'm so sorry to hear of Godfrey's passing. I'm glad you had the time together in Arizona - and only wish it could have been longer.
You'll be in my thoughts.
