Gordon B. Mustain

MUSTAIN, Gordon B., 69, of Tucson died on April 13, 2011 of complications from lung cancer caused by Agent Orange exposure during his tour as a Marine in Vietnam. He was a jeweler and writer who owned Enchanted Earthworks Gallery for 22 years with his wife Val, who survives him. As a writer he won several awards for his short stories and published a number of novels including "Afterimages" and "Apache Tears" which he co-authored with his dearest friend Stoney Livingston. He wrote a series of poems after his cancer diagnosis in January called "Cancer Songs: Reflections on a Death Sentence" which his grandson Daniel Treat recorded and with daughter Melanie von Gunten has produced as a CD. He is also survived by daughter, Leslie Rich; granddaughter, Rachel Treat and great-grandsons Sailas, Kameron, Marquis, Josif and Alex. A Private Ceremony honoring Gordon's life will be held at his home in early May.
