Ima TAYLOR Obituary

TAYLOR, Ima "Jane" 89 years and 11 months, Ima "Jane" Taylor, long time resident of Oracle and Tucson, AZ died February 10, 2018. Jane was preceded in death by, her husband, Roy C. Taylor, Sr. of 59 ½ years, parents, Hettie and Lester Davis; her six brothers, Woodrow (Aleta), Hillman A. (Dorothy), John L., Egbert J. (Quida), June and Haggai Davis; two sisters, Gladys (Bob) Harris and Opal (Rual) Evans. Jane is survived by son, Clay Taylor (Becky); her pride and joys granddaughter, Chelsea (Chad), grandson, Dillon (Sarah); and her light of her life, great-granddaughter, Adelyn Taylor; sister-in-laws, Lis Davis Williams (June), Gail Davis (Haggai) and Sue Davis (John L.). Jane loved her nieces and nephews, Jack, Nancy, Dan and Sally; Mike and Gene; Ronny and Patsy; George and Cathy; Virginia Ann, Marcey, Johnny and Sue Delane; James, Debbie and Les; Haggai II, Leslie and Richard; and her many great-nieces and great-nephews. Pictures of each and everyone were posted proudly for all retirement home residents to see. Jane's undergrad was from Austin College, Sherman, TX and her graduate degrees were from the U of A, Tucson, AZ. Jane loved her teaching career in Japan, San Manuel and Mammouth, AZ, which led her to her dear friend Shirley. She retired as the Principal of 1st Avenue School in San Manuel, AZ. Jane was active in the Oracle community, her church, volunteering where needed and safety programs with Oracle Fire Dept. Jane was involved with women's Shriner's organizations such as; Ladies of the Nile, Ladies Jesters and was a proud wife of a past Potentate. Jane loved music and avidly played the organ and piano and loved music night at First Baptist Church in Catalina. Jane always had the perfect hat and the perfect outfit for every occasion. She and Roy enjoyed motor-homing from coast to coast, border to border, and in Mexico and Germany and she was blessed to travel to numerous foreign countries. She loved those cruises! Jane adored her life-long friends! Mt. View Retirement Village blessed her with new friends, neighbors and amazing staff. Gramma Jane adored all times spent with Dillon and Chelsea. The Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oracle Union Church. 705 E. American Ave., Oracle, AZ 85623. Reception to follow. I am so sorry to hear of Jane's passing. She was the Principal that hired me at First Ave. Elementary way back in 1982. A role model, friend, neighbor and colleague. Rest in Peace Jane. May you and Roy enjoy many a wonderful adventure together in Heaven.
