Jack and I met at a party for Nit & Wit Literary Arts Magazine back in the 70's in Chicago. We continued to be "penpals" and phone pals for many years thereafter. When I visited New Mexico they were generous gracious and educational hosts, warning me of the spices and high altitude and showing me some of their favorite places. I Attended a presentation Jack made at NOHA in Skokie, IL And it was Jack who explained to me about the perils of shingles for which I am very grateful. He was always so willing to share his vast knowledge of nutrition. May he rest now...

You left us much too soon, my dear friend. Thank you for the care and kindness you gave to me and so many others. You are missed by many and will always have special place in my heart.
Rest peacefully, Jack.

Our 1st cousin Jack, we are so saddened here in Toronto, Ontario that you have been taken from us at a young age and miss so very much. You have left us more than you know. You found the lost Novak cousins because you did the DNA Ancestry test in August 2016. You will always hold a special place in our broken hearts. We love and miss you Jack.

Too soon, Jack! We had so much more to talk about. Thanks for the memories of camp outs, and Friday nights at the Guadalupe, and all your recommendations, and your final hugs and love to support me when you needed my support.

We have lost a Peaceful Warrior. May the lights Jack lit among his family, friends, acquaintances and strangers glow brightly and shine through sorrow and grief.

He was a great man and I was honored to have had the chance to get to know him even if it was for a short time. Rest in peace.
