James Davis Obituary

James Michael Davis, age 84, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, in Pinetop, Arizona. He was born in Morrilton, Arkansas, on November 23, 1940. He received his BA in art from the University of Arkansas and was a forever Razorback. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 44 years, Rosemary; the proud father of twins Stacie and Shannon; stepsons Mike and Dave; grandchildren Corey, Logan, and Delaney; and beloved family in Mississippi.

Mike came to Arizona in the 1970s carrying with him his delightful southern accent. He was a man of many talents; art teacher, avid hunter, tennis player, golfer, fisherman, and most of all a drummer! Let's not forget his side gigs as an amateur magician and full-time prankster. If there was mischief to be made, Mike was usually behind it (and laughing the loudest).

As a talented drummer he had the honor of performing with Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley and for actress Mae West at the famed Peppermint Lounge. He toured extensively with his band, making appearances in Hollywood, New York, Canada, and throughout the South.

Mike's infectious spirit and endless humor leave an echo of laughter that will be missed deeply and loved always.

Condolences Rosemary and family. Mike knew more bars in Canada than we did. He always made us laugh.
