Jeanne Steele Obituary

Jeanne K Steele passed away in her home at age 95, in Marana, Arizona on January 19, 2025. She was born on November 10, 1929 in Detroit Michigan. She spent 6 years acting, singing, and dancing in theatrical productions in Kalamazoo Michigan in 1957. Jeanne became Women's Editor of WKZO- TV/ Radio. She hosted a daily television show called "Accent" and Channel 3 Clubhouse. Jeanne moved to Tucson AZ in 1965 to work at the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. In 1969, she married Charles "Bucky" Steele, the principal percussionist. For 24 years Charles was the conductor/ music director of Tucson pops orchestra and Jeanne was the announcer for concerts each year in the Reid park bandshell. Charles "Bucky" Steele passed away on December 9, 2013. Jeanne touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. She was always grateful, sincere, joyful, giving and always full of laughter. She loved animals, music, ice skating, arts, chocolate, and so much more. Those who knew Jeanne will remember her for her beautiful smile, and deep -rooted faith in Jesus. She was taken in by a family to care for her in 2024, and was loved and cared for. She was always so thankful and full of laughter. Peacefully she passed away on January 19, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. We thank all her friends that cherished her, as well as Aria Hospice for the great care she received. She will never be forgotten and will be missed by her loved ones. She brought precious memories to all of us as we loved her dearly.

A lovely and classy lady. I met her when she married my favorite high school teacher--our THS band director, Charles Steele. I enjoyed their continued support throughout the years in my various endeavors in the community and in the arts. They were awesome together. Rest in Peace, Jeanne.
