Joan Timian Obituary

Joan Barbara Timian 7/27/1930 - 10/7/2012 Joan Barbara Connot Timian was born on July 27, 1930 in Spencer, Nebraska at her family home. She was born to Marie and John Connot, a farming family of brothers, Henry and Tony; sisters, Helen Louise, Dorothy, Annie, Leona and Marie. It would be in Amarillo, Texas where she met her future husband Victor D. Timian. They married on April 16, 1955 in a simple ceremony held in Tucson, Arizona; where they settled down to raise a family. They were married for 48 years before Victor passed away on June 7, 2003. Joan and Victor had three children, Donald Timian married to Victoria Hutchison-Timian, Dorothy Timian-Palmer and Vivian Timian and one grandson, Logan Palmer. Joan enjoyed many hobbies which included music, dancing, sewing, but particularly cooking and baking. She was known throughout the community for her cooking and baking skills. Her comment was "there is always room for another person at the table, just throw another potato in the pot". Everyone enjoyed an invite to Joan's house for a good meal and good company. Joan loved to volunteer and work included Veterans Hospital, Most Holy Trinity Church, Saddlebrooke Community Outreach Program/Kids Closet and tutoring math to third graders at the local elementary school. But her favorite was as a baker for the Tucson Ronald McDonald House. Joan was seen by others as energetic, lively and a get it done woman. She will be missed by all who had the chance to know her. Services are scheduled at Most Holy Trinity Church on Friday, October 19, 2012, 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow at Starr Pass Resort. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Bakers at Ronald McDonald House or the Saddlebrooke Community Outreach/Kids Closet. Arrangements by CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, INC. Joan was a wonderful friend to my parents for many many years. Working with my mom, giving my dad a hard time. Don, Dorothy, Vivian, we are so sorry for your loss. My mom and yours are now together, and we know nobody will now go hungry in Heaven.

Don and Vicki, Dorothy and Vivian - Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Your mom was a special aunt. You know how much she loved fun and a good laugh. We hope you enjoyed your visits to Nebraska as much as we enjoyed our Arizona visits. Your mom could always be counted on to keep things lively during those visits! We love you, Joan. Rest in peace.
