My condolences go out to Joe's family for their terrible loss of a wonderful person!
Joe and I both lived in our homes in Cobblestone since the earliest days of the subdivision, and soon realized how much we had in common.
We were both avid card guys, with Joe growing up on Long Island, and me in Connecticut.
We both went to the sports car races at Bridgehampton, Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, and other tracks in New England and New York as teenagers.-
We both loved Corvettes, and each of us continued to order the next highest performance model available through the years. We both agreed our favorites were our 1966 427's which each of us had back in the day.
Although we would see each other often at Barrett Jackson, the Tucson Classics, or Monterey vintage races, I now regret that we did not do more together in Tucson.
I have always thought of Joe as a good friend, and will remember him that way until the day I go.

I knew Joe at Edgemont High School. Joe and I would go to Madison Square Garden to the car shows in the early 1960s. He once raced his Dad's Cadillac at Dover Drag Strip and won in his class. Joe was a popular guy in high school. I'm sorry I didn't get to update our friendship later in life. Here is his year book photo with several trophies.

I own a Classic car facility in Tempe AZ. Myself and my team had the pleasure of working recently with Joe to complete a project on a truly unique and cool Alfa Romeo. Joe was a gentleman and extremely helpful during the process with his car knowledge. It's with heavy hearts that we receive this news. We are grateful to have met and befriended Joe. He was a "class-act"

I am sorry to hear about Joe. He and I were friends at Southampton College in the mid 1960s. If I was to name a "Most Unforgettable (college) Character" it would be Joe.
We both liked cars and talked about them constantly. During midterm exam study one Spring we heard Bridgehampton Raceway was opening for the season. We would study a while and take a ride out there to see what it was like. We studied for about 5 minutes and left in Joe's parents 1964 Cadillac convertible for Bridgehampton. The rear gate was open so Joe drove on to the track and made the best of it on the way around. Someone stopped us and directed us to the grandstand only to see Herb Wetanson´s Porsche 917 preparing for a practice run. The sound it made was unforgettable. Joe and I went to see LeMans when it first came out.
Please accept my condolences. I am honored to have known Joe.

Thinking about you and your father and mother Rita in the early `60 at Southhampton with your corvette stingray 427/425.
You loved cars (i remember also the yellow Pantera)
and were such a nice person
Then I had my life in several parts of the world
and all of the sudden one day I met you by chance in a show in Bradway sitting in front of me and we were able to talk....
Rest in peace with God
