Such good memories of having Karen as my cousin on my mom's side of the family. We didn't see each other often because I grew up in Nevada but it was always happy times when we got to play together at our grandparents house in Coolidge, AZ. When I close my eyes and picture Karen as a sweet little girl I can remember she had her hair pulled back sprouting a small ponytail fountain on the top of her head as I did as a kid. I have only fond and loving memories like the time we walked to the neighborhood store to buy flour for my Aunt with just enough money left over for an ice cream. Another time I gave her a ride on the back of my mini bike. As I was starting a family I heard about all the wonderful things Karen was doing with her life and I wasn't surprised in the least as she was a special person with a wonderful personality taken away much too soon.

Such sad news, but our lives are better for having known Karen. We knew her through work at Mayo Clinic and enjoyed her delightful personality along with her collegiality and professionalism. She was loved by her patients and will be sorely missed.

Karen was an exceptional, warm caring person. I met her because she was taking care of my daughter at Oregon Medical Group. My daughter was non verbal, and had a very tough time trusting people, but she trusted Karen.
There´s a space in our lives that she filled as someone who made us smile. She will be missed.

My sincerest condolences to her family and friends. She was an Academic Fellow in our PA Program. I greatly admired her fearlessness and opinionated nature. Oh, the laughs we had. Dear Family,
I was honored to get to know Karen at our family reunion in Telluride, CO so many years ago. I remember her smile most of all. She always treated people with kindness and I am so sorry for this huge loss. She was so beautiful outside, but even more inside. I always loved she was named after cousin Karen. I saw her being an amazing big sister to PJ and Heather. Her energy was always so pure. I will miss her always. I love you all, Love...cousin Tania and family.
