Kenneth Craig Poore

POORE, Kenneth Craig, 64, of Lawrenceburg, died Monday, January 7, 2008. He was the son of the late James Easton and Dixie Gilbreath Poore. He was born October 24, 1943 in Dublin, TX. He attended the Texas Christian University, the Tennessee State University, studying Criminal Justice, and was a 1978 graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy. He was a former police officer in Fort Worth, TX and joined the U.S. Marshals Service in 1971. He was a former U.S. Marshall for the Eastern District of KY and the Eastern District of TN, a former Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal for the District of AZ, Western District of TX and Eastern District of TN. He was a former Director for Customer Relations and Director for Internal Audits with the Corrections Corporation of America in Nashville, TN. He was a Vietnam Marine Veteran, a member of the Retired United States Marshals Association, the FBI National Academy Association and the American Correctional Association. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Poore of Lawrenceburg; a son, Stephen (Deborah) Poore of San Antonio, TX; a daughter, Theresa (Robert) Rosenheim of San Antonio, TX; a step-son, Orville (Kristin) Wiseman of Flagstaff, AZ; a step-daughter, Melissa (James) Quarve of Knoxville, TN; and nine grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Brumley officiating. Burial will follow in the Frankfort Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 11, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or American Heart Association.
