Our condolences to the Preston family, your loss is ours also. My wife was a school mate of his and I met him and his whole family in 1962. We'll always remember the good times we had together. He touched so many people. The world needed people like Bert, he won't be forgotten. GOD BLESS YOU.

When I first came to Tucson in 1961, Bert, Herman, and Ed came by Barrio Anita where I was living, picked me up and we drove out to the desert and passed the Kappa Loving Cup of Thunderbird wine.
I will definetly miss Bert at the monthly get togethers! He always organized the dinners that helped keep us together for all these years. So long to a great buddy.

I looked forward to knowing Bert had arranged the monthly "Boys Night Out" dinner with Ed, Chuck, Herman and Marlon. Chuck could argue the politics of the day with them instead of me. I also remember how Bert used to cook for Delta Sigma Theta meetings at your home and advise us on finances. He'll surely be missed.

I had the greatest opportunity to meet him while i attended cholla high school 84-87. He was extremely kind but also tough. He always had a positive thing to say and for a lot of us was a father figure. As time has gone by i haven't seen him since graduation, but he was never forgotten. Thank for being such an inspiration in my own life. You will be missed.

Dr. Preston was truly a devoted and committed educator and administrator. Those desiring to be teachers or principals would do themselves and students justice by emmulating the pattern he set. While we are all saddened by his passing, let's remember the life lived and the lives he touched. My condolences to the family. Psalms 27:1-14

I met Dr. Preston when I went to teach science at Catalina High School in 1983. When he moved to Cholla High School, he contacted me about a job he had available and asked me to apply. I did, and a couple of years later, with his encouragement, I applied for and received the appointment as his Assistant Principal for Instruction. Dr. Preston was a great mentor, and helped me tremendously as I learned my job. Any success that I have had as a school leader can be directly attributed to his guidance and friendship. I feel very fortunate to have known Dr. Preston and to have had the opportunity to work with and learn from him.

We had the best possible North Central Evaluation under Dr. Preston. He was supportive of the English Department; he thought we were the greatest. I did not want him to go to Cholla. I also taught his daughter. The family has my sympathy. Sincerely, Tommy Harper

He was a loyal friend and classmate, class of 55 THS. He had a very rare and unique quality about him that just drew you to him as a friend. While we went our separate ways, we always remained friends, always glad to see each other when we met.
I am proud to have had him as a friend all these many years.
