Dear Family of Lance, Twenty-two years ago, August,1985, a talented and young Lance was the perfect photographer for my parents' 50th wedding celebration at the Santa Rita Hotel. His charisma and appealing gift of humor made that event special and memorable. Only yesterday my 92-year old mom was marveling at each of the many fine photographs he took that eventful day. She said, "He is the only photographer on earth that could ever make me smile!" Today , thanks to Lance, we have these large, colorful, and truly meaningful pictures of my parents, their close family and all the guests. Lance is the BEST. And now I know more about him from today's writeup in the Star (Bonnie Henry). His beautiful spirit lives. My family and I extend our sincere condolences to you.

I am just hearing of this very sad news about Lance. I first met him when I was a senior in high school at Rincon in 1989. He took my senior pictures and then offered me a job! He said I had a great smile and a wonderful personality, I thought the same of him. I knew his wife at that time and he always stuck up for me when she would get upset at something that would go wrong in the office. I had seen him a couple of times out and about and he told me so much about you Pam and Baby Lance at that time, I am just very sorry I was not able to meet you both. I am very sorry for your loss he was a great person.

I was the mother of the Bride at a wedding Lance photographed. He captured some great moments. I also captured a picture of him. I had to tell him to smile. I gave him a copy of it, I hope you still have it. Pictures mean so much when our loved ones are gone. I am praying for the family.

My sincere sympathy to Pam, Lil Lance and the entire Fairchild Family. I met Lance one year taking my Volleyball team over for a photo session and have been there for 6 years. Because of Lance's professionalism and his unbelievable talent to make my shy students laugh, I refused to take them anywhere else. Everytime was an positive experience and an awesome outcome for all of us. I am honored to have known and especially laughed with Lance. I will miss him dearly!

He worked with Floyd Gardner back in the 80's and took our senior pictures. Lance hired me for the day to sort my class' photos (CDO '82) and we laughed and joked around so much. I used to visit him from time to time; he was such a vibrant, kind, fun-loving person!
