Laura L. DANIEL MSSW PH.D. LCSW

DANIEL, Laura L. née Marquard MSSW, PH.D., LCSW, passed away on January 3, 2018 after a brief illness.  She was 73.  Born in Honda Texas to Herbert Marquard and Mary Marquard (née DeKrey), Laura grew up in a close-knit family in Enterprise, WI.  After graduating from Elcho High School, she went on to earn Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a PH.D. in Education from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She worked for the States of Wisconsin and Michigan in various leadership positions.  She later taught at Wayne State University in Detroit, and worked in private practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  Laura and her husband retired to Oracle, AZ in 2017. Laura was a kind and generous person.  She challenged injustices and gave a helping hand to people who needed one.  Her friends and family take comfort in knowing that she made the world a better place.  She is survived by her husband, Will Rapier; and her siblings and their spouses, Edward residing in Milwaukee, Robert in Minneapolis, David in Duluth, MN, Janice in Milwaukee; and numerous nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Justin-Daniel Rapier.  Her remains will be cremated.  A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date, and her ashes along with those of her son, will be interred next to her paternal grandparents and parents at the Enterprise cemetery.  Arrangements by DESERT SUNSET CATALINA.
