Lisa Gunther Obituary

Lisa (DeVries) Gunther 2/13/1963 - 12/4/2014 After a heroic three year battle with cancer, Lisa, encouraged by all who loved her, spread out her wings and flew home to a loving God and a new existence. She is survived by her husband, Dan; three children, David, Claire and Aaron; her mother, Helen DeVries; three brothers, Jon, Tim and Mike DeVries; three sisters, Kathi Favinger, Mari Ross and Amy Jesionowski and an extended family. All here will greatly miss her servant's heart, her quick wit, and her wise counsel, but rejoice in her release from the painful bonds of that cruel disease. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at Pantano Christian Church, 1755 S Houghton Rd., Tucson AZ. Regrettably for all, her home-baked cookies and cakes will not be served after the service.

God Bless Lisa and those she left behind. I was unaware of her passing but even though I only spoke to her occasionally for business I'll miss being able to deal with someone with such intelligence and character. I'm truly sorry and moved.

I worked with Lisa for three years and was so sad to hear of her passing. The service last night was beautiful and you all described her exactly how I will always remember her...so professional, intelligent in almost every subject we discussed, motherly (almost like a second mom since mine lives 2000 miles away), witty, outgoing and always willing to help anyone and always with a smile. She was an amazing person, as is all of her family, and I am a better person because of her. I will keep you all in my prayers during this difficult time.

God stood at the entrance to Heaven, arms outspread, and welcomed Lisa into His loving arms. He promised her an eternal life without pain and suffering and has made her a beautiful Angel to watch over her family and friends. We understand the pain you feel in your hearts without her earthly presence, but also know that Lisa's life on earth touched so many people that her legacy will live on earth and beyond forever.
