I have many good memories of Mary through my visits to Tucson in the past especially the last visit with my wife Inga and daughter Thorunn Jenny in October 2009 when we met Mary and all the family. We send our deepest sincere sympathy in those difficult times. Skuli and the girls.

We would like to honor our very good friend at this moment in time with a short remembrance as our last far-well to my mother-in-law Mary M. Martinson who passed away all to soon on the 6th of june 2011.

She was alway´s very sweet and unconditionally ready to greet and meet us on our quite frequent visits to Tucson to visit my brother Gudmund Martinson my dear brother.

She was so lovely, and often had to be very patient because our english was not the best but she understood us as did we in our unique way and lots of smiles from her until we all understood all that was being told.

Mary visited Iceland with her daughters Anna and Monica in 1976. She was eager to see those relatives of her husband from the home country and was fortunate enough to meet her mother-in-law Jona Anna Bjornsdottir,
her husband´s Gudmund Martinson mother but his dad Marteinn Larusson had passed away at that point in time.

She met the sisters, Hulda Jenny, Herdis and Lara and brothers Johann and me and enjoyed seeing us and also the visit to her husbands birthplace and birth-town Stykkisholmur in Iceland.

We have good memories of Mary her kindness and hospitality towards us and it is with great sorrow that we say our final goodbye to her, but the warm thoughts and memory will live with us forever.

It is only recently that we have due to Facebook, technology started to communicate more often with our great family in the USA in the Tucson, Arizona family branch and it sure has brought us closer together although this great distance in miles is between us. We hope to continue communicate more often even though Gudmund and Mary have passed away, it is all-together more important to keep the relationship alive.

We send our deepest sympathy to all our relatives in AZ and will keep Mary in our hearts for years to come.

I guess I just want to make sure that the kids and grandkids and the great-grandkids know how very much she loved all of you. She was one of the most loving persons that I have ever known. And her same loving spirit will be with you all forever.
