Mary Weil Obituary

Mary June Weil (née McNew) passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona.

Born on December 5, 1938, in Ft. Davis, Texas, Mary June was the youngest child of June Dawson and Ruby Lorene (Kirby) McNew. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Tim Weil (2020); and her brothers, Gregory (Jewel) and Frankie Lee, who died in childhood.

A dedicated student, Mary June graduated as valedictorian of her Ft. Davis high school class and went on to complete two years of business school in Odessa, Texas. In 1961, she moved to North Hollywood, California, where she worked as a bookkeeper for the City of Los Angeles and met her future husband, Tim. They married and welcomed their son, Christopher Gregory Weil, in 1964. Tim's real estate career led the family through several cities-Studio City, CA; San Antonio, TX; San Diego, CA; and Redondo Beach, CA-before settling in Tucson.

In Tucson, Mary June continued her bookkeeping work with Weil Commercial Real Estate and devoted herself to community service. She was active in the Assistance League, P.E.O. Chapter W, and local pet organizations, reflecting her deep love for animals (especially dogs).

Mary June is survived by her son Christopher Weil and his wife Jessica; grandchildren Alex and Cassi; brother-in-law Chris Weil (Patricia); nephew Matthew (Svetlana; grandniece Kia); niece Kit Victoria (John; grandnephew Noah and grandniece Rachel) and niece Caitlin (Mike; grandniece Amelia and grandnephew Winston); niece Karen Enquist; nephew Dawson McNew (Magnolia); grandnephew Tim (Jillian); grandniece Kelly (Alex); and longtime family friend and care giver, Kimberly Innecken (children Leroy and Dominic).

Donations in Mary June's memory may be made to Heifer International, Old Souls Animal Rescue (Tucson), or P.E.O. Chapter W.

I am at a loss for words. My heart is broken, and also I understand that you are free from a body that has kept you from being able to move about as freely as your mind wished it could. You are and will be missed. I have faith you will continue to be with us in spirit to guide us through signs that I will be looking for. Thank you for being you and for being a memorable loving presence in my sons' and my life.
