Mike was my guitar teacher when I was young. he was a big inspiration on my life and I still think of him often. I wasn't aware he was gone until now. My life went south for a while but I've gotten myself on track now for a while. Googled Mike's name to see if I could find out what he was up to and found out he passed 11 years ago. Makes me think about how much of my life I've thrown away. I have a lot to look forward to now. I have a son And I plan on teaching him guitar also. Thank you for helping me with the guitar mike. I hope you rest in peace. Hope to see you again someday!

I was one of the lucky ones who got the chance to spend a little bit of time with Mike. I was his drummer in a band that played mostly in California. I will never forget those great times we had. My condolences to Mike's family.

I am so sorry or your loss...I was taking lessons from Mike for the last 8 months at IMC. I really enjoyed my weekly lessons...When I got home my wife would ask how it went...I would tell her, "it was a three DUDE lesson" We talked about all of the concerts I saw at Filmore East and that I was at Shea Stadium for the Beatles. He enjoyed talking about them.......I will miss him.......so sorry for your loss..

It's so sad to hear of the loss of Mike to the world. I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with him on many occaisions from behind the drums. We've lost a truly great guy and gifted guitarist.

I have only known Mike for a few months as he was teaching me the Ukulele. Though I'm nearly 75 and a beginner, he wrote the music I wanted to learn and taught me as a friend and mentor. As with all of you I will miss him and pray for his family.

From reading the other entries, I missed out on a great teacher. I met Mike & his friend last year at Club Congress. We were there to see Dick Dale. I spoke mostly to his friend but the 2 things I remembered was the name Mike & that he taught guitar at Instrumental. I love guitar & want to at least TRY to learn to play. So I would've checked him out once I took that step....My condolences to his family....

We are so sorry for the loss of this great music teacher. The first time I spoke with Mike I told him I was looking for an instructor for both my kids (then ages 11 & 9 - now 17 and 15) He asked "Is this for Carnegie Hall or for sitting in their bedrooms writing songs about how much they hate you?" I laughed and told him the latter to which he replied "that, I can do." He taught my kids for five years at Instrumental and I can honestly say they never said they didn't want to go. Too busy maybe, but never just did not want to go. He will be sorely missed by many and our thoughts are with his family. We will NEVER forget him.

I just learned of Mike's passing today. I am very saddened by this news. My son was taking guitar lessons from mike and Mike was the perfect type of teacher to introduce Ryan to guitar. My family was very fortunate to have known Mike, if even for a short time.

I am ever saddened to hear of Mike's passing. Mike was indeed a gifted guitarist and "brother musician"...I had the pleasure of working with Mike in the"Chuck Wagon & the Wheels" band in Santa barbara Cal. Mike was an inspiration and it has been my honor to have him as a friend. I am a better person from having known Mike. My deepest condolences to all his family.

To the family of Mike Hatch. My grandson and I were taking lessons from Mike at the time of your loss. He had made such an impact on that 8 yr old's love of music. Myself also. I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with your family.

I am so deeply sorry for the loss of Mike. Though I recently just saw him at our 40th high school reunion and at the Bamboo Club where he played on occasion, I always remember him from jr. high and high school. Sympathies to Mike's family and closest friends. Kathy (Angulo) Ott
