Ofc. Buckner Obituary
On Sunday night, shortly before 10:00pm, Adam was responding to a call for service when his patrol car was struck by an oncoming vehicle. Adam was traveling northbound on Campbell Ave. with his emergency lights and siren activated. As Adam was traveling through the intersection on a green light at 6th St., the oncoming vehicle failed to yield and a collision occurred.
In his final moments, Adam was doing what everyone who knew him had grown to expect of him: Running toward danger where lesser men would run away from it.
Adam is survived by his wife, Catie, and mother, Joy. He was a proud big brother to Brand, Ride, Shiloh, and Joseph. More than a law enforcement officer, Adam was a friend. He was an exemplary man whose words and actions affected the lives of countless people.
Adam was brave, kind, authentic, and talented in so many ways. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Adam's honor to the Educational Enrichment Foundation to help support the students and educators in our community. Donations can be made by emailing [email protected] or at www.eeftucson.org.

I worked for law enforcement as a civilian for 20 years, and I know the special bond we have, and the pain we experience when we lose someone far too soon. My heart is broken for the family of this wonderful young man. I met Adam eight-years ago when his step-father, John, suffered a massive heart-attack. How wonderful to read and hear all the comments, and knowing that the remarkable young man I met then, continued to demonstrate his exemplary character. You are loved, young man, and you are sorely missed by so many. I do not know Ofc Buckner, I definitely feel our community lost a great man who responded to a call to protect and serve, he died protecting the citizens of Tucson. May the Angels of Heaven guide Ofc Buckner to eternal peace. and may Ofc Buckner's family find comfort, peace, love at this time, losing a wonderful man who will never be forgotten by many who had the pleasure of knowing him over the years.
