Oscar Gastelum Campas On the night of November 28, 2015, the son of Fedicio M. Campas and Maria G. Campas, the husband of Mercedes R. Campas, the father of Carolina R Campas, Oscar R. Campas (Cynthia), David R. Campas (Karen), Monica R. Campas, Ernest R. Campas and Steve R. Campas, the Tata of Samantha Marie Campas Colaianni (Vincent) and Serena Christine Campas, the Patriarch of the Campas Family entered Heaven and completed his earthly journey. Oscar was a lifelong Tucsonan, whose family history stretches back as far as the 1700's. He graduated from Tucson High School and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona. He served his country in the Korean War, and later entered the postal service where he became a supervisor at the Rincon Station and Postmaster of the Green Valley and Yuma offices. When he retired, he followed his passion for teaching, and taught at Wakefield Junior High and various other schools who needed his expertise. He was a lifelong member of the South Tucson Lions Club, where he made many good friends and had some of the best times of his life working with them. As an avid UofA Wildcats fan, his ultimate wish was for the Cats to play in the Rose Bowl. This wish will have to be seen from God's sky box. A very special thank you to Robert and Rosadelia Rosales, Oscar's brother and sister-in-law. They have been with our family throughout our mother and father's illnesses, and we love them very much. Our father is the kind of man this world will miss. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway Blvd. Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Burial will take place at Holy Hope Cemetery, immediately following funeral service.
