Paul Frederick Whittemore

WHITTEMORE, PAUL FREDERICK, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007, with his wife at his bedside, at the age of 93 after years of a courageous battle against terminal diseases. Beloved husband of Hannah, loving father of four children, grandfather and great grandfather. Born in Haverhill, New Hampshire. A career member of the Army, retiring after 28 years with service during WWII, Korea and Vietnam Conflicts possessing many decorations and awards. Paul was also enjoying his retirement from the City of Tucson. He was a charter member of the International Association of Sports Officials. While in the Athletic Department of the United States Military Academy West Point he co-authored the all cadet sports rule books. He was a lifetime member of the Arizona Stein Club. Survived by his wife, Hannah; daughter, Susan (Neal) of Phoenix; sons, Gerald (Susan) and Richmond (Imelda) of Tucson and other family members in the New England area. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Paul. His mind and heart was full of fun, love and kindness to his family, friends and all those his life touched. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Paul will be interred with military honors in the Whittenmore Family Section of the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Eliot, Maine.
