Richard Kewley Obituary

In Loving Memory of Richard "Dick" Kewley, May 24, 1943 – October 13, 2025.

Richard "Dick" Kewley lived a life marked by kindness, curiosity, and connection. Born in Evanston, Illinois, he moved to Tucson at age 10 and later graduated from Catalina High School.

Dick built a career as a lineman and troubleshooter for the phone company, known for his dedication and problem-solving spirit. He became a peer counselor not because of personal struggles, but out of compassion-he witnessed the impact of addiction on others and chose to train in Al-Anon philosophies to offer support. His easygoing demeanor and genuine empathy made him a natural at helping those in need.

His passions were many-rock music and guitar, sanctioned drag racing in his younger years, running, and cruising the desert roads on his Harley Davidson. He was deeply fascinated by the history of the Southwest and loved exploring its open landscapes. He also had a soft spot for cats, whose quiet companionship matched his gentle spirit. He lived by the belief that "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift from God"-a reflection of the gratitude and presence he brought to each day.

Dick passed away in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 82. No formal services are planned, but he will be fondly remembered by his many friends. Ride free, brother.

RIP Dick. My sincere condolences to his family.

Dick was always a bright spot on a long day out in the field. He always had something funny to say.
