Ricky Charles Amos obituary

Ricky Amos Obituary

Ricky Charles Amos Rick was born in Arkansas November 11, 1949 and left us too soon on June 28, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marla; his daughter, Nikole (Jerry); his son, Charlie (Rosaleen); his brother, Mike (Jeanie); his sister, Sue Kimbler (George) and Donna Miller (Fred); grandchildren, Roman, Riley, Sareniah, Kaylei, Braden and Chloe. Rick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He touched so many lives in his 60 years and we are all deeply saddened to have lost such a great man. He gave so much of his life to others and loved unconditionally. Thinking of him brings such warmth and happiness to us all and we are all blessed to have known him and had him as part of our lives. We are comforted to know that he is no longer in pain and is not suffering from the various crosses that he carried and accepted so honorably. We love you, Rick and will miss you each and every day. A Celebration of his life will be held Thursday, July 1, 2010 at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or St. Baldrick's.

Uncle Rick was the best uncle in the world. He always knew how to make me smile and how to push my buttons. He was such a wonderful person and I know that he impacted more people in his 60 years than he ever will know. Thank you Uncle Rick for all that you accomplished in your 60 years especially the lives that you have touched. You truly will be missed...especially your dirty jokes! I will cherish the memories forever. Marla, Nikki, Jerry, Charlie and Roseleen (and grandkids), you are in my thoughts and prayers. All my love, Jennifer

My deepest sympathy to the family I once was part of for more than 3 years and still to this day remember knowing that Rick treated everyone he met like family. I enjoyed being with the entire family whether is was on vacations or even just sitting with Rick and Marla watching wheel of fortune. He was so generous and I will never forget the families kindness. Most of all I will miss just laughing at his everyday jokes. I bet he was the best grandpa any child could ever ask for. Lots of fun always. I believe Rick's legacy is bringing joy and kindness not only to his family but everyone he met and nothing is more important then radiating happiness. Thank you Rick for all you did for me, it will never ever be forgotten and I only wish I was able to tell you the impact it had on who I am today.

I was sorry to hear of the loss of Rick, and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I first met Rick as a patient at the VA hospital where I worked with him and the oncologist, but I was able to know Rick as more than a patient. I enjoyed spending the time talking hunting and house building in Colorado with him, and those conversations were more frequent than those involving his health. A truly kind and giving individual that we will all miss.

You know how much Bob and I love you and Rick. This beautiful poem below is what feel about Rick and how I will hold him in my heart and my thoughts forever.
Love,
Claudia and Bob
***************************************
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints upon the snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain and
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush,
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die.
