Robert Cooke Obituary

Robert G. "Bob" Cooke Born in Baker, Montana moved to Tucson in 1940, died unexpectedly on May 30, 2010. After new valves and the latest lubricant his motor just stopped. He always knew who he was and where he came from, loved his family and friends and probably a Ford or two. Bob started three businesses in South Tucson - the last one being C&C Auto Sales which he and his son Jerry ran. He was involved in the Pueblo Optimist club since 1968, Southside YMCA, Salvation Army, South Tucson Business Association, and the Soap Box Derby for a number of years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen; children, Susan, Jerry (Marguerite), Sandy (Jim) and Dawn (Robert); grandchildren, Christopher, Kevin, Camille, Lucille, Matt, Deidra, Jessica, Chance and Jazmin; sisters, nieces and nephews. He is missed by many. Graveside services to be held at South Lawn at 5401 S. Park Ave., Tucson on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's name to Pueblo Optimist Club, P.O. Box 27104, Tucson, AZ 85726-7104. Helen, Jerry, Susan, & Sandy, The news of Bob's transition has made me reflect on the positive influence he had on my life and I'm sure others. He will be deeply missed. If everyone had a piece of his honesty the world would be a better place.

I am sorry I'll miss the service. Talk to you soon

An honest man and a true friend, we will miss you. My first truck was bought through Bob at C & C, a 1978 "Ford". That was the first of many vehicles bought from Jerry and Bob. Bob's kindness will never be forgotten. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you Helen and your family at this difficult time. Red and Val Etzwiler
