Robert Y. Kimball

Robert Y. Kimball 84, a longtime resident of Hanover, NH died on November 20, 2007 at home in Tucson, AZ. Bob was born in Melrose, MA on July 13, 1923. In 1942 he joined the Naval Air Corps, and was a 1946 graduate of Dartmouth College. He married Jacqueline Winship on September 13, 1947. They resided in Hanover, NH while he earned his MBA from Amos Tuck School of Business Administration. For the next 15 years, he worked at BF Goodrich Company while living in Lynnfield, MA. In 1963, Bob, Jackie and their four daughters moved back to NH, where he was employed by Dartmouth College as an Assistant to President John S. Dickey and later became Assistant Dean of Amos Tuck School. While a resident of Hanover, Bob was an active member and Deacon of the Church of Christ at Dartmouth College, a member of Rotary and held many official duties for his Dartmouth Class of '46. After 42 years living in Hanover and spending winters in Tucson, AZ for the last 10, they moved permanently to Tucson in 2005 to be closer to daughters Holly and Sandy. Bob was one of those people who loved life, family and his friends with a gusto rarely seen. He was an enthusiastic fan at Dartmouth sporting events, was never happier than when competing with treasured friends on the golf course and tennis courts, was a master cribbage and poker player, loved to laugh and wore a winning smile that attracted friends wherever he went. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline, four daughters, Holly Miner, Susan Kimball, Patty Bragg, Sandy Kimball, two "special" sons, John Miner and Jess Bragg, and eight grandchildren, Marcus, Jeremy, Andrew, Nicholas, Kelly, Jake, Jacqueline and Allison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Casa De La Luz Hospice, 400 W. Magee Rd, Tucson, AZ, 85704. A memorial service will be held in Hanover, N.H.
