Dear Lisa and family,
I was saddened to hear of Roberta's passing. I always remember her smile and her warm, genuine and genteel manner. I remember being so surprised one July 4th (1989?) at the Sunset Saloon in Marina del Rey after hearing a very fun band play a lively set before a full house. At the break, I complimented the amazing singer on having such a special voice. She looked at me and said, "I know you." The singer recognized me from Tucson. I felt so silly that I heard this great singer, and all the while, I knew her too from Tucson, but Roberta did something different with her hair and that was the first time I heard her voice. Like an angel. Very special.
But a few years later, when I first heard the both go you sing together in Tucson, wow. Such harmony. I was blown away at the truly special and amazing harmony by you sisters.
My late mom and dad really loved the Para Gloria CD, while in home hospice together.
You both rocked. How truly special the you two sisters had such an iconic Tex-Mex harmony that created a party atmosphere, wherever you as your two voices created such magic.
I feel bad I lost touch with you all in recent years, but I never forget the special musical magic you two created.
I cannot imagine the loss you must be feeling. I feel her loss. Roberta was a special soul.
May she RIP.
My sincerest condolences,
