Thomas Worden Obituary

Thomas "Chase" Worden 7/20/1990 – 8/28/2010 Survived by mother, April; father, Frank; sister, Taylor; grandparents, Garold (Papa) and Carol (Nana) Brown and Frank and Beverly Worden; great- grandparents, Betty and Jack Alexander and many loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by grandmother, Diane Brown. Chase was our beautiful boy: charming, friendly, athletic, smart, adventurous, curious and generous. He loved to share his knowledge of history, aerospace, sports, and oceanography and enjoyed travel. Always active, our "Mister Chase" had a passion for life and the great outdoors. He loved skate boarding, paint balling, ultimate fighting, bow hunting, horticulture and all water and snow sports. He never missed an opportunity to make a connection with people or to tell a story. He enjoyed rapping, spinning and was known to many as the "DJ Rhyme-oceros." We will miss his laughter, big heart, practical jokes, and most of all his loving, kind, gregarious and gentle spirit. Please join us in a Celebration of Chase's life on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Westin La Paloma. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Youth on Their Own. (www.yoto.org). Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, DODGE CHAPEL.

Tonight I can't stop thinking of you and how it's so surreal to me still 9 years later. I don't know why I'm talking to you as if you'll read this but some how I believe I'll receive a message or sign from you. Maybe it's because of the holidays and it makes
Me think of you and April and Taylor. Every holiday our families were together. Which means I have
Many memories of us during this time. To spend the last 9 years apart and bring in a new decade just isn't real to me. I hope you are resting easy love! Forever and always you'll be in my heart and on my mind. Where ever you rest I send my love

September 4, 2016

Your presence is still in our hearts. I hope your mom finds peace during this time and always and feels the love you are sending to her from heaven.

It's been 2 1/2 years... Can that be??? Beautiful, funny, charming and smart man you were becoming. We all lost something when you left us too soon....

April, Frank & Taylor; Two years since your son became your guardian angel and I just learned of your loss. The four of you will forever be in my heart and I pray that you find comfort in remembering the good times and the laughter. My condolonces to each of you.

April and Taylor,
I am so sorry for your loss. It's been a long time since we've seen each other, but I will always remember the amazing times I had with Chase. He was the only person that could get me to step on a skateboard and I never wanted to go home because we would have so much fun. He will be missed but not forgotten, and I will be praying for your family.
Love,

Chase will never be forgotten. Often times your mom tells stories of the funny and sweet things you have done. Just yesterday I heard the "Car Battery Story" and the "Boy Scout Story". Chase you are awesome and you were so awesome to be around. I wish I had more time to know you more. You still can put smiles on our faces even if you are away from us.

For all of Chase's family and friends, I did not know Chase, but I understand what you all go through each day, especially on a day such as today. My teenage son passed away in 2009. Know you are not alone, even when it feels that way. I know your day will be full of tears and smiles. Even though I am a stranger to you, I know you in my heart. My family will keep all of you in our thoughts today. Your son is so handsome! And those he has met in his lifetime will never forget him. Rejoice in your memories today and everyday.

Dear April, Frank, and Taylor,

We are so very saddened to hear about the loss of your precious son and brother. I remember when Michael and Chase met in grade school and quickly became very good friends. I was happy Michael met another boy who shared the same interests. They spent many weekends together skateboarding, paint balling, snowboarding, bmxing, and just hanging out being boisterous boys. Chase was funny, charming, inquisitive and a very sociable young man. He is a treasure we will all miss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time.

Sincerely and with love,
Michael, Erika and El Granberry

April & Taylor I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Chase & your Mom & your Grandma. I had the privelege to be a caregiver for both Chase & Taylor it was my pleasure they were such precious respectful children. A fond memory I have of Chase was his asking me to put him on the kitchen counter so he could fix us a snack. He got some tortilla chips & asked me to get mustard out of the refrigerator. He was such alittle guy & so proud of himself for making Taylor & I a snack. Your loss is great & the sorry will be immense but take heart in knowing that your brother & son Chase & your Mom & Grandma will always be with you in Spirit. I will hold you up in my prayers!

I do not know your family, but I saw this photo in the obits of your son. How he reminded me of my very own teenage son who passed last year. I am so sorry that you have to live with this grief. My heart truly breaks for you all. By his photo, he looks like an amazing and such a handsome young man. In time, and it will be much time, be gentle on yourself. Your lives will never be the same, but I promise you will again find joy, even though it is unimaginable to you at this time.

Chase was a friend to my fiance and I for nearly half a year, though it seemed so much longer because of Chase's wonderful spirit. We even planned to have him in our wedding ceremony as the Best Man. We're both sad that Chase is gone, but know he will be watching over us. I know he wouldn't miss it for anything.

Dear April,
You and I have only met briefly through our mutual friend Nita Lauer and I never had the honor of meeting your beautiful son Chase. I however feel compelled to contact you via this book to let you know that there is a network of love and support for you in the loss of your son that is a linked chain. I am just one link in the chain, but pray that you and your family, in your time of loss, will find comfort in your fond memories of Chase.
Sincerely,
Dian Scott

A life well lived is like a light so beautiful and rare, that everyone within its glow is blessed because its there. April. On Friday, Chase and I were talking about how he would run Cool Box with me one day, we even shook on it. Then he ate all my candy in the las vegas candy jar. But thats okay, i'm glad he liked it. He joked that he could build a unit all by himself. But i think he was serious. He was so handy. He welded my gate back together in the back patio, you should see the weld marks, not bad. I remember that day, i couldn't believe it. I watched him for a minute. He was welding in a tank top and shorts. Sparks were flying everywhere but he didn't care. He was tough. He's always so helpful to me. The Chase I knew was always so enthusiastic and such a charmer. Every time I gave him a ride home he would talk about how he hopes to make you and Gary proud. Be strong and know that Chase is still very much with us in spirit. I have promised him that I will always have your back. I'm really going to miss chase. Please get better soon, I miss you too.

I remember the first time I met Chase, out at the paintball field a while back. At first, we clashed a little bit, but as I got to know him more, we became fast friends. He'd always come up to me with his goofy smile and say "What up Big Yellow?" Week after week we'd play against each other, walk of the field, and then start poking fun at the other one for things that we messed up on, fill up on paint, and do it again. Even though he'd been been dealing with some hard personal issues, he was always willing to reach out a helping hand to whomever might need it. Chase was a good kid, a legit baller, and a amazing friend. And for me, he'll never be gone. Everytime I gear up to play, screw in my tank, fill up on paint, and put on my jersey, I'll be thinking about him and the ways that he helped all of us become better people. I miss you bro... I just wish I got to tell you this in person.

April, we are so sorry that you have had to endure the pain of two losses in just over one year. As horrible as the death of your mother was, the loss of a child is the worst pain a woman can possibly experience. All we can hope is that Chase and his grandma are together in heaven and that we'll all see them both again someday. Please take care of yourself during what must be the most difficult days of your life. You, Taylor, Frank and all of your family members are in our prayers. Barbara and Kevin Pierce
