Wesley Maloney Obituary
Wesley passed away, as in life, surrounded by a big family that brought her so much love and happiness. Her biggest pride and joy in life was her family. She also had a strong faith and devoted herself to charity, serving as Secretary for the local Salvation Army and as a member of the Christ Child Society of Tucson and many other Catholic organizations. She had a huge heart and always had an open home, a giant hug, and a seat at the dinner table for everyone who came through the door. She will be missed for her big smile, endless hugs and kisses, pecan pies, and unconditional love, kindness and generosity. She was surrounded by so much love and leaves behind a wealth of memories and stories that will be passed on for generations to come.
Services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Tucson. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Salpointe Catholic High School, 1545 E. Copper St., Tucson, AZ 85719 www.salpointe.org.

No one did more for me growing up than Dr. And Mrs. Maloney, best exemplified by their opening up their New Hampshire home to me while I did a senior cardiothoracic surgery rotation. I can remember driving in with Dr. Maloney every morning, operating to (fairly loud) "Monk Music", and dinner with the family and assorted friends of the family every night - like it was yesterday. I can also remember Mrs. Maloney cooking for seemingly 20 people every night in Tucson, never knowing who her kids were going to bring home. And especially her smile and laugh and the twinkle in her eyes as she welcomed us (all) in. The principal example of giving and welcoming in my life experience. I miss the both of them a lot and owe them even more. Our best wishes to the family in this difficult time. Love, Bill and Laura

Wesley was an incredibly dedicated member of the Christ Child Society of Tucson and a pleasure to be around. Angela Schneider, National Christ Child Society President and Tucson Past President, remembers Wesley as a person who saw Jesus Christ in every child. Wesley was an extremely generous member, always came up to Angela at meetings, quietly asked if CCST needed money and would slip her a generous donation. Angela noted that Wesley would always say "if there is ever anything you need, just pick up the phone!"
She was a wonderful soul and is deeply missed.

Wesley's passing is the passing of an era. The Schnurs and the Maloneys arrived in Tucson at the same time. We attended the same church, our children attended the same schools and Chris and Paul started the long running Lobos Riders for our sons and daughters together. Without Wesley Maloney's pecan pie on the first night, the Lobos Riders trip would not have been as successful. Her love and kindness was the foundation of our friendship with her and Chris. She will forever be in our fondest memories.
