Rick & Elisabeth Wheeler
May 24, 2010
Elisabeth and I were saddened to hear of Bill's passing. Other Tucson train buddies were also sorry to hear about his death. There are many other excellent Tucson train modelers who have gone to the "great layout in the sky." I, Rick, can envision Bill being welcomed there by other train modelers and being invited to run his Union Pacific trains there. I enjoyed swapping train stories and magazines with Bill. I was privileged to work on Bill's railroad layout from time to time.
Elisabeth and I were delighted to meet Bill and you, Lois, through Tanque Verde Lutheran Church. We both enjoyed visiting over lunch and watching Bill's trains traversing the deserts and mountains of his layout. Elisabeth particularly enjoyed walking with you, Lois, around Bill's wonderful cacti gardens. We are privileged to know both of you and will miss Bill very much.
