Albert Baker Obituary

BAKER, Albert Gale, 76, of Decherd, passed away on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma. He was born in Riscoe, Missouri, on Dec. 30, 1938, to the late George Henry and Glennie Inez Brashier Baker. He served in the United States Army, earning a Bronze Star during the Vietnam War before working at AEDC as an aircraft mechanic. Albert enjoyed working on aircraft, helicopters and computers and was a member of Capitol Hill Church of Christ. He was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and Shriner. Albert is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Kaye Hill Baker, of Decherd; daughters, Regina L. (Tommy) Baker Thomas, of Cowan and Pamela J. (Mark) Abram, of Lawrenceville, Georgia; sons, Jeffery (Rene) Short, of Lewisburg and Scott (Sandra) Short, of Winchester; sisters, Glenda Halmontaller, Carol Litchford and Betty Lou (Kevin) Lybarger, all of Tullahoma; brother, Charles D. (Betty) Baker, of Decherd; grandchildren, Steven J. Hardin, Shane C. Hardin, Dustin E. Abram, Jeremy C. Abram, Jeffery Short Jr, Megan Short, Andy Short, and Ashley Short; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation was held from 5 till 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct 3. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4, in Moore-Cortner Chapel with Brother Robert Tipps officiating. Interment followed in Franklin Memorial Gardens. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
