Beverly Naifeh Obituary

Naifeh, Beverly Jean

August 27, 1937 - March 25, 2024

Beverly Jean Naifeh, 86, passed very peacefully from this life on March 25, 2024.  Beverly was preceeded in death by the love of her life, Jerry, her husband of 57 years. Beverly is survived by her sister, Rosemary Wade Clark, of Sapulpa, three sons, Robert S. Naifeh and his wife, Sheila, Phillip W. Naifeh, and James P. Naifeh and his wife, Kelley; and a daughter, Julia Evans and her husband, Ralph, all of Sapulpa.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Stevie Ann Williams (Brandon), Corey Naifeh (Ashley), Natalie Mae Naifeh, Max Evans, Julian Evans, Zeak Naifeh (Hannah), Jerald Paul Naifeh II and six great-grandchildren, Aidan Williams, Isabella Williams, Ellery Naifeh, Dash Naifeh, Ophelia Naifeh and Haizely Naifeh.

Raised as an oil patch kid in her youth, Beverly and her family lived in multiple places, from Louisiana, to Illinois, to Kansas, finally settling back in Sapulpa. Beverly was homecoming queen at Sapulpa High where she graduated in 1956.  After high school, she worked as a nurse's aide at Sapulpa's hospital and then as a secretary at Sapulpa Tank.  It was at Sapulpa Tank that she met Jerry when Jerry got "lost" on the way to his doctor's office in the Berryhill building.   After they married, Beverly worked at the family business, Standard Tobacco and still had the title of Corporate Secretary at the time of her death.

The role in her life that Beverly cherished the most was that of mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was known as MiMi by her grands, great-grands and all of their friends as well.

She was a fierce advocate for all of her family and her "chicks" as she called them, adored her as much as she adored them.

Beverly and Jerry traveled extensively with their dear friends throughout the years and made so many wonderful memories.

Undoubtedly one of her proudest moments outside of family started almost 60 years ago when she served as co-founder of Sapulpa's Candlelight Charity Ball, which continues to this day to raise vital funds to benefit individuals with disabilities. Beverly also played a pivotal role in establishing the Share Homes in Sapulpa which provided supportive housing for individuals with special needs.

Beverly was loved by many and will be remembered by all for her incredible gift of empathy.

Words do little to convey the special feeling one felt when in her company.  To many she was a second mother whose love was unconditional and always without judgement.

The moment you met Beverly, you immediately found one of your dearest friends.

Perhaps a quote from one of her favorite movies says it best:

"A heart is shown not by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others."

~ The Wizard of Oz

I spent much of my childhood in Mrs. Naifeh's house. My mom and aunt worked for her for many years. She was an amazing woman. I remember her hiring me and my sister during the summer. We would clean and organize the playroom she had for her grandkids. She always had the best lunch! Her daughter Julie is a gem as well! She will be greatly missed!
