Bill Davis Obituary

Bill Davis

The Lord called Home his faithful servant, Billy Gene Davis, on June 7th, 2022. Bill was born in Oklahoma City on May 12, 1935, to Eugene V. and Jane Davis. He graduated from Capitol Hill High School where he was an All-State football player and named Mr. Chieftain. He was inducted to the Capitol Hill Hall of Fame in 2008. Bill attended the University of Oklahoma on a football scholarship to play for Bud Wilkinson for two years. Bill married the love of his life, Kaye (Miss Chieftain), on June 3, 1955. He went on to graduate from OU with an BBA in 1957 with an ROTC Commission. After military service as a captain in the US Army, he joined IBM in computer technology sales. Bill completed a long, successful career with IBM and Amdahl in 1998 and returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma to retire.

In retirement, Bill stayed very active with the Tulsa Master Gardeners' program and at St. James Methodist Church which he and Kaye called their "home". He loved participating in the many activities and reach out services of the Master Gardner program. And was very active in the church fellowship where he strengthened his relationship with the Lord. He remained an avid OU football fan and followed Norman North High School football when his grandsons played. Bill had a huge, outgoing personality and was always making new friends and touched many lives. He and Kaye relocated to Epworth Villa in Oklahoma City last year to be closer to family. In his last few months as his health declined, he was provided excellent care by the Epworth nursing and home care staff.

Bill is survived by his loving and caring wife and life partner of 67 years, Kaye, his three sons Rick (Katy) of OKC, Mike of Houston, and Chris (Vicki) of Cypress, TX, five grandchildren, Ashley, Heather, Grace, Daniel, and Jack, and finally, two great grandchildren.
