Benediktson, Caroline Brown

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024, in Evanston, IL, after a long illness. Daughter of the late Cyrus and Mary, née Kimbrell, Brown, Caroline grew up in Kansas City, MO, and Whittier, CA, and spent time in Seattle, WA, while her father helped build the 1962 World's Fair. Caroline graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, where she met her husband, Tom. They got married in 1974 and moved to Austin, TX, to attend The University of Texas. After graduating from The University of Texas School of Law, she practiced law in Los Angeles, CA, and Houston, TX, before settling in Tulsa, OK, where she continued her career and started a family. Over her career, she was a partner at a law firm, led the legal teams at private and public corporations, and worked for the City Attorney's office in Tulsa. People will remember the enthusiasm she showed in whatever caught her interest, including art shows and museums, her children's schools, holiday decorations on Swan Lake, political causes, and, of course, her clients. She was an avid calligrapher, belonging to guilds in Tulsa and in Edmonds, WA, where they retired to live near their younger son before eventually settling in Evanston, IL, to enjoy being grandparents. Caroline is survived by her husband, Tom Benediktson; her children, Sam (Heather Kinion) and Dan; and her granddaughter, Julia. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
