Mr. Moutray, I was so sad to hear of your passing. You were (and always will be) one of my favorite teachers. Thank you for teaching me calculus! Thank you for being a great teacher! Rest well, Mr. Moutray, rest well!

Mr. Moo taught me in summer school 1985. I will be forever grateful that he never gave up on me, and that he let me go early on my 16th birthday to take my driver's test. He knew that driving would give me freedom just like understanding geometry. Love to family.

I remember Mr. Moutray from math class at Roosevelt Jr. High School. He made learning fun, always laughing in class. It was great competition to get to the first seat or even to get to the first row in class. He inspired everyone to do better.

Sorry to hear of your loss. We knew Claude through his brother Gary and nephew Jim Wood, who we grew up with here in Tulsa, OK. Claude always had a quick wit and a great since of humor. I am certain he will be missed by his family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Beautiful obituary! Your father was my 10th grade math teacher. I blew off math. I was an athlete. That was my failing. He gave me a chance. I got moved to the front seat of his classroom because of my efforts because of his encouragement. he told the whole class how special I was one day my sophomore year went in the All city football tournament at Skelly Stadium. One of the seniors miss-played a punt and I covered it. He pointed me out to the entire classroom. I loved your father Coach Moutray.

He taught me one of the most valuable lessons I ever learned, which I´m sure wasn´t original to him, but seemed so to me. "Knowledge isn´t knowing the answer. It´s knowing where to find the answer." Chris Medlock, Tulsa Mason 1976

The countless memories of Calculus and Mr. Moutray will always be remembered and shared!! His fun, wonderful spirit lives on through his family and we are all so much better for it!
Sending love and hugs to the Moutray family. Hopefully finding reasons to smile will be "QED" as the days pass.
