Clyde "Kirk" Kirkpatrick

KIRKPATRICK - Clyde (Kirk) 84, of Sand Springs, OK, died Monday, November 19, 2007, at Oak Dale Manor. He was born in Spring Creek, N.C. to Homer and Lillian Kirkpatrick. He joined the United States Navy in 1943 as a Machinist Mate 1st Class in Corpus Christi, TX where he met and married the love of his life, Pat. They had 2 children, Jack and Sandy and were married for 58 years. Kirk and Pat moved to Sand Springs, OK in June of 1965 after being transferred by D-X Sunray Oil Company. He worked for Sun Oil for 30 years in various capacities until his retirement in 1982. He served on the Sand Springs Board of Adjustments for 7 years. He was a member of the Sand Springs United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife Pat; a son, Jack Kirkpatrick; 2 brothers, Cleophus Kirkpatrick and wife, Agnes; Tommy Kirkpatrick; 2 sisters, Irene Trantham and husband, Vernon, Agnes Ward and husband, Houston. He is survived by: his daughter, Sand Wells and husband, Dale of Sand Springs, OK; his brother, Craig Kirkpatrick and wife, Edna of Saluda, N.C. daughter-in-law, Cynthia Kirkpatrick of Rutherfordton, N.C.; grandchildren, Jack Wells and wife, Mandy of Sand Springs, OK; Jeff Wells and wife, Brooke of Adair, OK; and Nicole Lowrey and husband, David of Rutherfordton, N.C.; 3 great-grandchildren, Emily Wells, Lewis Lowrey and Ryleigh Wells; as well as numerous well-loved nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 30, 2007 at Mobley Dodson Funeral Home Chapel in Sand Springs, OK.
