Donna Gustafson Obituary
Donna Gustafson
Jun 28, 1948 - Nov 11, 2025
Donna Sue Gustafson, nee Young, passed away on November 11, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Donna was born in in Sunnyside, Washington, on June 28, 1948, and moved with her family to Tulsa at just two years of age. She was the eighth of nine children born to Bertha and J.T. Young, and from the very beginning she grew up in a home full of noise, love, and laughter. She graduated from Will Rogers High School and later received her associate's degree in accounting. She went on to join ONG/ONEOK, where she worked with loyalty and dedication for more than 30 years, building lifelong friendships along the way.
On April 28, 1976, she married the love of her life, Dale Roger Gustafson and would have celebrated 50 years on April 28, 2026. Together, they shared a deep, joyful love for one another, their family, and the many memories they created side by side. They made their home at University Club in Tulsa for 38 years, where they hosted 4th of July celebrations, watching fireworks over the River Parks with friends and family gathered close.
In April of 2023, Donna and Dale moved to Norman to be closer to her sister, nieces, and nephews. They first lived at Sooner Station before purchasing their very first house shortly thereafter – something that brought Donna so much pride and excitement. She adored shopping for decorations and lovingly turned that house into a warm, welcoming home.
Donna gave of herself in endless ways and had the most generous heart. She loved deeply and made sure everyone around her felt welcome, seen, and included. She was the life of every party and never arrived without her signature bling, sparkle, big laugh, and a country song. To know Donna was to feel joy. While our hearts are incredibly heavy, we hold tight to her example and hope to carry her love, generosity, and laughter with us until we see her again.
Donna, affectionately known as "Nonni" is survived by her devoted husband Dale, two sisters, Pat Auletta of Tulsa/Norman and Ruby Price of Washington, and so many nieces and nephews who lovingly thought of her as their "other mother." Her impact on our lives is immeasurable, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who were blessed to know her.
