HOLT - Fletcher Olen "Buster", 77, of Tulsa. Passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2009, in Tulsa after a short illness. Born in Big Lake, TX on January 31, 1932. Graduated from Regan County High School. Attended Texas A&M on a football scholarship. Joined the U.S. Navy and served as a CB during the Korean Conflict. Returned to Texas A&M where he received his degree in mechanical engineering. Met his wife, Mary Ruth Taylor, during high school, and they were married December 21, 1951. Together, they made it through military service, college and different jobs before landing in Tulsa in 1959, when he started working for National Tank company (CE NATCO). He loved both his work and co-workers. After retirement, one of his favorite activities was attending monthly luncheons with his co-workers. After retirement from NATCO, he pursued other business ventures to include HEATER TECHNOLOGY in Ponca City and INVALCO in Tulsa. He traveled extensively during his military service and as an engineer. He was happiest when he was home with Mary Ruth and family. He was asked by one of his granddaughters in an interview for a school project, what was the best decision he ever made, and he responded, "That was to marry Mary Ruth." He had called Tulsa home since 1981, but he was still a Texan at heart. Preceded in death by his parents, Ella and Fletcher Holt, three siblings and their spouses, Ruth Brown (Vonnie), John Holt (Marj), and Chili Holt (Barbara). Survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ruth Holt; three children and their spouses, Dr. Debbie Morgan (Dr. Joe Morgan), Dr. Susan Wesson and Bobby Holt (Brenda); five grandchildren, Dr. Anne Morgan, Jill Morgan, Brya Roberts, Amy Wesson and Jared Holt Wesson; many nieces and nephews referred to as his "Texas Relatives," whom he loved so much. Buster considered himself a "very lucky man." His career allowed him to indulge his hobby of "fixing things,"... if he couldn't fix it, it was truly broken! On-line Memory Book
