Fred Allen Obituary

Fred Allen

June 16, 1935 - July 6, 2023

Fred Allen, 88, of Tulsa, OK, passed away on July 6, 2023. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend to many. Fred never met a stranger and his sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him.

Fred was born on June 16, 1935, in Tulsa, OK. He attended Lincoln Elementary School and later graduated from Tulsa Central High School. After completing his education, Fred embarked on a successful career in the audio industry. He started at Sound Unlimited and eventually founded his own business, Ace Sound, a company that installed sound systems in various venues around Tulsa. Additionally, Fred was a co-owner of Tulsa Time, a company that installed fire alarm systems and school clock systems.

Fred's passion for life extended beyond his work. He and his late wife, Margaret "Joanie" Allen, were involved in many activities together. They enjoyed square dancing, traveling, and fishing. Together, they built a beautiful cabin at Fidler's Bend on the Illinois river, creating lasting memories for their entire family.

Fred is survived by his daughters, Linda Jones and Jean Ehmke, and Jean's husband, Brent Ehmke. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret "Joanie" Allen; his son, Brian Allen; and his son-in-law, Chris Jones.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 10 a.m., at Memorial Park located at 5111 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to a charity of your choice in Fred's memory.

Fred Allen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, humor, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
