Harold Steinke Obituary

Harold James Steinke III

Harold James Steinke III passed away at his home on November 17, 2021 at the age of 60.

Hal was born December 2, 1960 in Grand Forks, ND, to his parents, Harold James and Virginia (Stevens) Steinke Jr. Harold (Hal), as he was known by most, graduated from Del City High School in 1978, and began working in the auto industry shortly after.

Hal aspired to achieve great things in the automotive industry. He was able to do so through the guidance of friend and mentor, Bob Howard, with whom he worked for 23 years. This time with Bob gave him the ability to turn his dreams into reality through ownership and operation of his own dealership. Hal proudly owned and operated Honda of Bartlesville from July of 2008 until his retirement in August of 2021.

When Hal wasn't pursuing his dreams in the automotive industry, he loved golfing and watching his favorite sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys, Oklahoma Sooners, and Chicago Cubs. When he wasn't watching sports, he spent his summers and weekends with friends and family cooking out and enjoying the happiest of times on Grand Lake. Hal also enjoyed overseeing the restoration of his '71 Chevy Camaro and taking car rides with his four-legged buddy, "Tang" the Maltipoo. Lastly, he enjoyed giving back to the Bartlesville Community, which he held very dear. He worked with Concern, helping spearhead events like Coats for Kids, Head Start, and various food drives. He also supported the Mary Martha Outreach and the Boy Scouts.

Hal leaves behind many loving memories and fun times that will be cherished by his two sons, Seth and Sawyer Steinke; his former wife and best friend, Tiffany Steinke; his three sisters, Shelly Gunther, Julie Hecksher, Jayne Fietz; and his many nieces and nephews. He was a loving and protecting man. He took his role as provider very seriously and worked extremely hard because it brought him joy to provide for his family. He loved to surprise them with amazing gifts. Hal was larger than life and would never hesitate to help anyone in need, no exceptions. He will be missed dearly by all his friends and family.

A private viewing for family was held Wednesday November 24, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at Schaudt's Funeral Service located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held after the holidays.

Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Funeral Service. Family and friends may send memories and condolences to the family online at

I meet Hal when he was GM at Bob Howard. He helped me with my complaint on a new car purchase. I have his cell and old BH phone number...would car him sporadically. Family, I owe you my love because of the exceptional kindness of Hal.
