Lu Ann Thompson passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, July 25, 2021, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the age of 62. She was born on Saturday, March 7, 1959, in Gallipolis, Ohio, to Bill Joe and Margaret (Luikart) Evans. Lu Ann grew up in Gallipolis and graduated from Gallia Academy High School. Lu Ann married the love of her life, Craig Thompson, and they had been married for 43 years. She obtained her Master's degree in English at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She taught English for 15 years at Tulsa Community College. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her two grandchildren.

Lu Ann was preceded in death by her father, Bill Joe Evans. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Craig Thompson, of the home; her daughter, Beth Person and her husband, Jason, of Broken Arrow; her grandchildren, Evan and Luke Person of Broken Arrow; her mother, Margaret Sullivan of Gallipolis, Ohio; her brother, Chris Sullivan of Gallipolis, Ohio; and nieces and nephews; as well as other extended family, the many students she taught and a lifetime of friends.

Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Garrett Funeral Home, Broken Arrow, OK.
