Martha Janet "Jan" Hoyt Dameron, 82, of Tulsa, passed away September 25, 2025. Jan was the cherished daughter of Fred L. Hoyt (1887-1956) and Helen Meyers Hoyt (1912-2002). Jan lived a full life marked by family, faith, and friendship.
She was preceded in death by her only child, Stephen Hoyt Miles; her husband, Kyle Dameron; her half-siblings, Vivian Hoyt Birdseye (George) and Frederick J. Hoyt. She is survived by Burt Steinberg, her companion in her later Golden Years; her niece, Elizabeth Birdseye Alexander (Stan); and many extended family members. She is lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many lifelong friends.
Jan was a retired Spanish teacher with a Master's Degree in Education. She was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and active in the Delta Gamma sorority. She was known for her love of knitting, especially the handmade baby blankets she created for each new arrival in her circle. Jan will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and devotion to family and friends. She is reunited with loved ones in heaven and will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home on Wednesday Oct 1, 5pm-7pm, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK 74145. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm, Thursday Oct 2, Bethany Free Will Baptist Church, 100 N. Olive, Broken Arrow 74012. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00am, Friday Oct 3, Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73132. Moore Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories at www.moorefuneral.com
