Maxine W. Dodd, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 15, 2025, in Claremore, Oklahoma, at the age of 96. Born on July 1, 1929, in Fairview, Oklahoma, Maxine Wyonne Dodd was the daughter of Franklin James and Gertie (Gould) Paris. She graduated from Fairview High School with the class of 1947 and furthered her education at Central State College, earning her bachelor's degree in education in 1950. In 1954, Maxine married Donn R. Dodd and to this union two daughters were born.

Throughout her life, Maxine dedicated herself to both her career and her community. During her high school years, she began working in a soda shop, which marked the start of her professional journey. Her career included serving as the secretary to the superintendent of public schools in Bartlesville. After moving to various towns, including Miami, Okmugee, Sapulpa, where she worked for an attorney's office, she settled in Claremore in 1965. Here, she became co-owner of the Claremore Progress, where she was significantly involved in daily operations and all bookkeeping duties.

In the late 1990s, Maxine pursued a lifelong dream of becoming a real estate agent and later transitioned into a property management role. Her contributions went beyond her professional achievements; they extended into her vibrant civic involvement. Maxine was a member of the PEO, Beta Sigma Phi, and the Tuesday Study Club, where she played a vital role in compiling and typing cookbooks that the organization sold over the years. Additionally, she was a devoted member of the First Christian Church.

Maxine's personal life was rich with joyful experiences, particularly her close relationships with her family. She was known as the biggest cheerleader for her grandchildren, relishing every opportunity to visit them and share in their lives. Her enthusiasm for family was complemented by strong bonds with her sisters, with whom she enjoyed many memorable trips. An avid enthusiast for stained glass, Maxine created numerous beautiful items throughout her life, showcasing her creative spirit.

Maxine is survived by her daughters, Susan Dodd Taylor and husband Dr. Charles Taylor of Jenks, and Dr. Karen Willhoite and husband Ken Willhoite of Claremore. She was a proud grandmother to Dr. Whitley Taylor of Greenville, South Carolina, Shelby Taylor Santana and husband Gibran of Dallas, Darcy Taylor of Jenks, Cale Corley of Pryor, Reid Willhoite of Oklahoma City, Alec Willhoite, and Hayden Willhoite both of Irving, Texas, and a cherished great-grandmother to Lyla Maxine Santana of Dallas. She also leaves behind numerous cousins. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved sisters, Geraldine Burns Maycumber, Ivine Paris, and Juanita Edgmon, as well as two nephews, Bob and Steve Wood.

Maxine W. Dodd's legacy is one of hard work, dedication to community, love for family, and the pursuit of dreams. She will be remembered and missed dearly by all who knew her.
