Michael Bohnsack Obituary

BOHNSACK -- Michael, 56, "Bonz" to many local musicians, died on Tuesday, September 26, 2006, in his wife's arms in Orlando, FL. Michael played keyboards for many local bands such as Tweed, BlueStreak, and XL. He toured with local celebrities, Gus Hardin and Ronnie Dunn. Michael was raised in the Tulsa area and graduated from Hale High School. He enjoyed the fraternity life at Oklahoma State University before transferring to Oklahoma University in Norman, where he majored in Music Composition. His love of music carried him around the world and settled him in Orlando, playing keyboards for Universal Studios. His talent allowed him to take the "road less traveled" and his charisma and passion, will be sorely missed by his loved ones and friends. He has been survived by: his wife, Leslie Bohnsack; his daughter, Monica Epperson and his grand-daughter, Eden of Broken Arrow; his mother, Ginny Bohnsack, sister, Jill Crawford and brother, Eric Bohnsack, all of the Atlanta, GA, area; his mother-in-law, Joan Schrader, sister-in-law, Susan Esson of Kansas City, MO; and his father-in-law, Les Schrader of Oklahoma City. He will be missed as a beloved uncle, to Hayley Esson, Diane Esson, Jason Crawford, Adam Crawford, Kevin Crawford, Chris Bohsack, Sherry Bohnsack, Marcus Bohnsack, and Grace Bohnsack. He was preceded by his father, Jim Bohnsack. A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 4, at Fellowship Bible Church, 481-1445.

Died on the same day as our cat, Wiser.

I've known Mike since the late sixties, with the first song that I can remember him playing was
"Eli's Comin'" by Three Dog Night in the basement area of the Tulsa Assembly Center.

He had what appeared to be natural talent for playing keyboard instruments. I'm sure behind the scenes there was some work going on, but when it was showtime, it just looked like second nature.

But maybe someday, his favorite football team, the Oakland Raiders will win the Super bowl just for him.
