A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Robertson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Haskell, OK with Pastor Jeanie Dancer officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. Viewing hours will be available at the Dowdy-Marker Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18th and from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19th with the family greeting guests from 5 to 7 p.m.
Jessie Ruth Forrester, born in Oklahoma City on August 10, 1935, stepped into the presence of the Lord on February 11, 2021. Ruth was a devout Christian and was a member of the Haskell Presbyterian Church. She showed her dedication to the Lord by playing piano for this church for nearly 50 years.
Ruth was loved by her sons, Brent, Trent, and Jim Forrester who served as her steadfast caretakers in her final days.
After the passing of her father, Ruth helped to manage her father's oil business- Meor Whitney LLC., for almost 60 years. While residing in Haskell, Ruth was a licensed insurance agent and helped her husband run Creek Land and Loan insurance company. Ruth also was the first female president of the Haskell Chamber of Commerce. Ruth loved playing bridge and belonged to several bridge clubs and danced with the Tulsa clogging club for 15 years. https://www.markerfuneralhomes.com/
