Stanley Gwinn Obituary

GWINN - Stanley Harrison, Jr., passed away May 26, 2009. He was born April 17, 1927, in Yale, OK to Stanley Sr. and Grace Palmer Gwinn. Stan graduated from Tulsa Central High where he excelled in all sports including track, baseball and football. He was an All State player in football his senior year and earned a scholarship in baseball at O.S.U. where he received a degree in Education. After a year in the Navy during World War II he played with the Dodger chain. In later life, golf was his challenge. He enjoyed a successful career in the Petroleum Industry in the Sales Dept. Stan married his high school sweetheart Joe Ann Dixon in 1947. They have three children, Stan III of Fort Worth, Lisa McWilliams of Jackson, GA and Brad Alan of Houston.; 6 grandchildren: Mindy, Sarah, Adam, Dillon, Joe and Jesse; 3 great-grandchildren: Daegen, Kiana and Ella Katherine. Other survivors are: a loving daughter-in-law, Yong Suk Gwinn and brothers: Billy Ward Gwinn and Richard Lee Gwinn. A Memorial Service and Celebration of his Life will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 Normal Park, Huntsville, TX on June 6, 2009 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Michael J.
