Betty Poole Obituary

MARION Betty Jean Hare Poole, age 80, of Marion, Ala., formerly of Aliceville, Ala., died Oct. 8, 2009, at Perry County Nursing Home in Marion. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, at Dogwood Chapel with Dr. Larry Teasley officiating. Burial will be held at Franconia-Oak Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends after the service at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th St. NE in Aliceville.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ambers Chapman Poole, Sr.; daughter, Jeanen Poole and her parents.

Survivors include her sons, Ambers C. "Andy" Poole, Jr. of Northport, David H. Poole (Beth) of Marion and Timothy L. "Tim" Poole, Sr. of Fort Payne, Ala.; brother-in-law, Major H. Poole (Ruth); and five grandchildren, Whitney, Annie, T.J., Laura and Kelly.

Mrs. Poole was born May 3, 1929, in Blount County, Alabama to the late Terah Hare and Iva Teauge Hare. She was a member of Aliceville First Baptist Church, a retired bookkeeper and well-known resident of Aliceville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 200 Office Park Drive, Suit 303, Birmingham, AL 35223 or to one's favorite charity.
