Tuscaloosa I Charles E. Jones,

age 82, of Tuscaloosa, died July

3, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Memory Hill Gardens with Brad Smith officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. The family will receive friends at Memory Chapel Funeral Home from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy V. Jones; and his parents, Reno and Blanche Jones.

Survivors include his children, a daughter, Jeannie Jones McCool (Billy) of Tuscaloosa; sons, Donny Jones (Donna) of Spanish Fort, Eddie Jones of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Mindy Mills (Bryan), Fletcher Jones, Cassidy McCool, Colson McCool and Daniel Guin; great- grandchildren, Drake Mills, Baylee Kate Mills and Rylee Mills; a sister; Shirley J. Rice of Northport; brothers, Jimmy Jones (Betty) of BuhI, and David Jones (Margaret) of Enid, Okla.

Charles was a member of South Highland Baptist Church. He served his country for 44 years in the Army and Army National Guard. He retired a Sergeant Major. He was also retired from B.F. Goodrich. He was a good and honorable man who was a true patriot.

Pallbearers will be Donny Jones, Eddie Jones, Billy McCool, Fletcher Jones, Colson McCool, Daniel Gum, and Bryan Mills.

Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Jones, Scott Jones, David Jones, Doug Elkins, and Jarrett Vick. Special thanks to Teresa Smith, Greenbriar Neighbors, National Guard 31st Armored BDE (Dixie BDE), Army 39th AAA BN., 35th AAA BDE., friends at Shelton State Wood Shop, friends from Moose Lodge, Palmetto Hunting Club and Yellow Creek - William's Camp.
