David Paul McLaughlin

NORTHPORT - David Paul McLaughlin, age 63, passed away November 7, 2018 at home after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2018, at Alberta Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Pugh and Dr. Mike Hall officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
Born in Dothan, Ala. on April 8, 1955, he was the son of the late Kenneth Clyde McLaughlin and Foye Jean Henderson. David was part owner of Kincaid TV for 25 years. He was married on May 16, 1981 to Teresa Knowles McLaughlin of Tuscaloosa.
David was preceded in death by his parents; foster parents, A.B. and Runell Clark; and sister, Linda Windham of Dothan, Ala.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Terri McLaughlin; brothers, Alan Clark and Ken Clark, both of Dothan; children, Justin McLaughlin (Anna) of Northport, Matthew McLaughlin (Adrienne) of Duncanville and Madison McLaughlin of Northport; grandchildren, Duncan, Luke and Jake McLaughlin, Graham and Mary Neal McLaughlin.
David was a loving husband, father and PawPaw who spent his younger days coaching baseball, hunting and fishing. He was also a faithful member of the carpool line at his children's schools. He was greatly loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Robert Watkins, Jay Watkins, Doug Killough, David Turner, Mike Morrison, Dara Longgrear, Joel McLaughlin, Alan Clark and Ken Clark.
Honorary pallbearers are all of his grandchildren, Dr. Debell, members of Beta Chapter Kappa Sigma Fraternity and members of Dollarhide Hunting Camp.
A special thanks to his nurses, Brandi Rogers, Rudy Gibson and the staff of Hospice of West Alabama.
